Penguin chaos abounds!

In the small town of Stillwater, Mr. and Mrs. Popper are pleasant, practical, predictable people. But when a package for the Poppers produces a penguin, chaos waddles into their lives! Based on the popular novel with catchy songs and penguin puppets aplenty, MR. POPPER’S PENGUINS is a brand new musical that will have you chirping with cheer!

Hands-On Rolling Workshop

2:15-3:45 p.m. (between performances) for $5 per child, ages 5 and up
Whether you stay right after the 1 p.m. performance, or come a little early to the 4 p.m. performance, our “rolling” workshops in between performances are only $5 per child, ages 5-10, and parents may participate for free. Make your very own Popper penguin puppet and learn peppy, playful, penguin choreography with fellow penguin lovers. Workshops are conducted by Victoria Theatre Association teaching artists and are not conducted by the show’s cast or crew. Call Ticket Center Stage at 937-228-3630 or 888-228-3630 or click here to add a workshop to your performance.

Book Drive

Victoria Theatre Association — in partnership with Project READTeradata Cares, and City Day Community School — is pleased to announce the READ ACROSS AMERICA BOOK DRIVE. As further illustration of our commitment to education and to quality of life in our community, VTA will be collecting new or gently used books for grades PreK-8. VTA hopes to collect a book for every seat in the Victoria Theatre — 1,154 books! Follow us on Facebook (@VictoriaTheatreAssociation), Instagram (@VTADayton) and Twitter (@VictoriaTheatre) to see how the theatre fills up with books!

Collection bins will be located at the Schuster Center, Victoria Theatre, Arts Garage, and Teradata beginning January 20 with VTA’s Morris Furniture Co. Family Series presentation of MR. POPPER’S PENGUINS at the Victoria Theatre. On March 2, some of the books collected will be delivered to City Day Community School with each student going home with a book of their very own. Additional books will be donated to Project READ.

As part of the collection project, Citilites Restaurant at the Schuster Center will be doing a lunchtime “Books for Tots” promotion January 22-26. Each dine-in lunch customer who brings a book donation will receive a free small order of delicious tater tots.
