This season we are trying something new. We have created a variety of exciting and educational workshops for you and your students that are available ALL YEAR LONG! That means you can still book a workshop the day you see one of our performances, or you can book a workshop on another day.
Each one-hour workshop is $125 for every 25 students – whether at the Victoria Theatre or at your school. Remember, workshops are customizable, available year-round, and able to travel to your school.
For more information and to schedule a workshop, contact VTA’s Education & Engagement Department at 937-228-7591, ext. 3039.Discovery Workshops
Arts education is an essential component of every student’s academic journey. For many years, studies have shown that the arts have a real impact on a student’s reading and language skills, mathematics skills, thinking skills, social skills, and motivation to learn. In the Americans for the Arts’ Arts Education Navigator, there is overwhelming evidence that theatre, dance, music, visual art, and music all contribute to a student’s success. By adding a Discovery Series experience to your academic calendar, you will be inspiring new pathways for achievement both inside and outside of the classroom.
This season offers even more innovative and exciting opportunities for you and your students! Each Discovery Series production takes place in the beautiful Victoria Theatre, and has been carefully selected to enhance curriculum connections throughout subject areas. Our customizable Discovery Workshops offer an affordable way to enhance the play-going experience for your students by connecting the themes, styles, and artistry with state and national academic standards. Plus, our free online Resource Guides for each production are full of practical information and grade-specific activities for you and your students.
Our Education & Engagement Department is proud to partner with you and your school to ensure the success of every student. We are excited to share all of the ways these amazing artists can support learning in your classroom. Thank you for choosing the Discovery Series, and making the arts a priority in the academic lives of our young people.
